Green Bay Schools Adapt to Keep Homeless Students Learning
Green Bay school officials say the number of homeless students in the district is rapidly increasing.
In 2003, about 300 children in Green Bay schools were without a permanent home. The district expects that number to rise to 950 by the end of this school year — almost five percent of the total student population.
Schools are adopting a new teaching method that makes life easier for those who don’t have a home.
