A Valley couple forced out on the streets after they lost their jobs and home had only a storage unit to call “home” for about one month.
Chet Sutyla and Deborah Bukovinac said they call the locker, measuring 5 feet tall and 10 feet wide, their “bedroom closet.”
“You could have talked to me three months ago and I would have to you, ‘You’re crazy. Me, homeless? No not me,'” Sutyla said.
Sutyla was a telecommunications worker of 17 years, and Bukovinac was in the healthcare industry.
Sutyla said he has been sleeping in park benches and playgrounds. Bukovinac said she only has seven cents to her name.
