Homeless Payson Teens Celebrate Graduation | Payson, Arizona | ABC 15 Arizona
While high school seniors are starting to celebrate graduation, a few are thankful they lived to see theirs.
Two Payson students were homeless without family for most of their education. The troubles started early on for Payson Herring and Emi Stacklie.
“It happened the summer of my 5th grade year,” said Herring, a high school senior. “I went home and there was a padlock on the door and a note basically saying my mom went to jail. My dad was already in prison at the time. After that was when I realized I was on my own.”
