A Houston, Texas native, Kelly Emberg started her successful modeling career with Elite Models. She has graced covers of magazines including Vogue, Bazaar, Mademoiselle, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Self, and New Woman and appeared in commercials for L’Oreal, Maybelline, Cover Girl, Planters Peanuts, Pert shampoo and many more.
In addition to contracts with Virginia Slims, Napier Jewelry, and JH Collectables, she has been in the editorial pages of Sport Illustrated five times. Besides modeling, Ms. Emberg has worked on a drama documentary film and been in a band called “Bamm” which opened for Cindy Lauper. After her successful modeling career from 1978-1988, Ms. Emberg started taking interior design classes at UCLA and eventually opened her own store called “The Cotton Box”.
In 2008, she started her own vegetable garden at her own house in Fairbanks located on 3.72 acres of land. Ms. Emberg is currently in the process of pitching a garden show and her “Kelly’s Garden” concept to teach people that they too can grow their own food no matter the size of their garden. Her ultimate goal is to inspire people to grow and educate them about the food they eat. Ms. Emberg is also in the recent December 2011 issue of Genlux beauty magazine.
When I was first approached to be a part of the “I Am Waters Foundation” I was honored and thrilled. There is such a misconception on what the face of the homeless looks like. They are people just like you and I who fall on hard times because of the loss of a job or a devastating catastrophe like a hurricane or an earthquake. It is crazy to think so many of the homeless don’t have access to drinkable water! We all live in our comfortable homes and have water whenever we need and we take it for granted. Water is life and without it, life seems unimaginable. Providing water for the homeless is an essential and humane thing to do. “I Am Waters” not only quenches their thirst but boosts their confidence and morale. LOVE, HOPE and FAITH are printed on each bottle which is a constant reminder that their life can and will get better! I want to be a part of that process and look forward to helping in any way I can.
