Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Kim Charlton came to New York after winning a beauty contest with a top New York modeling agency and quickly rose to Supermodel status with covers and prestigious advertising campaigns. She became the top money earner at Ford Model Agency in the 80’s.
Based in NYC, she traveled and worked throughout the United States, England, Europe, the Middle East, Japan, China, South America, the Caribbean, the West Indies, etc.
She had lucrative contracts with Chanel 19 perfume for TV commercials and print ads, and Kanebo Cosmetics for whom she traveled yearly to shoot their calendars.
She flew to Israel for Gottex bathing suits, Dubai for an Oscar de La Renta show and went to China in 1978 with British Vogue on the first trip China ever allowed into their country. She was constantly in magazines both in the fashion pages and the advertising pages with over 17 different Geoffrey Beene jean ads, Revlon beauty, Coty lips, Clairol hair among others.
She was booked for print ads, editorial pages, fashion shows, tv commercials, catalogs and with top designers for their fashion shows in New York, Milan, Paris, London and Germany. Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Perry Ellis, Halston, Gianfranco Ferre all loved her and she was often their bride finale. She did a fashion show for Versace around the golden statue at the Rockefeller Center skating rink and walked down the Spanish Steps in Rome for Valentino. She graced the covers of American and European Vogues and Bazaars among hundreds of her covers. She has worked with almost every top photographer including George Harrell, Horst P. Horst, Patrick DeMarchelier, Arthur Elgort, Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Marco Glaviano and Helmut Newton. She was particularly known for her legs and her lips.
Today occasional modeling with Ford Models as a Classic Model, selling real estate and charity work keep her busy. She enjoys being with her two children, riding horses and painting in her spare time.
Each bottle of “I Am Waters” provides a wonderful, healthy feeling to those homeless whose basic need for fresh water is unsatisfied. The cool, life-giving water can quench their thirst, as well as the thirst to know they are thought about and cared about. Each sip as it flows down can be felt giving life’s energy and pleasure. Such a simple, beautiful gift. Please have compassion and help the I Am Waters Foundation provide water to the many homeless people who need it.
